Johanna is 1 of 2 candidates for Hopkins School Board to receive the endorsement from the the Hopkins Education Association (HEA)

a local union that represents Hopkins educators! The HEA endorses candidates that support the freedom to learn and teach, that value professional pay and benefits, and who seek to improve the educational environment for staff and students through

a collaborative effort.

 

The HEA represents the 600+ educators in the Hopkins School District 270 including K-12, Title I and Learning Support, Special Education, Adult Basic Educators, Preschool, Early Childhood Family Education, and Transition Plus educators and students. The HEA is affiliated with Education Minnesota, the AFL-CIO, and the NEA.

SEIU MN STATE COUNCIL (SEIU)

 SEIU has a long history of supporting candidates who are committed to improving the lives of working families and has endorsed Johanna and one other candidate for Hopkins School Board. SEIU represents approximately 70 thousand workers statewide who provide care and support for Minnesota families in our homes, hospitals, public schools, nursing homes, hotels, universities and the Twin Cities’ largest public and private buildings, and who make and distribute products used by Minnesotans every day.

MINNEAPOLIS REGIONAL LABOR FEDERATION

The Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation (MRLF), which represents over 100,000 union members and their families across the Twin Cities metro area. The MRLF advocates for fair wages, safe working conditions, and strong public institutions — including our public schools. Their support reflects a shared belief that when we invest in our educators, staff, and students, we strengthen our entire community.

Women Winning is changing the face of power in Minnesota by activating pro-choice campaign operatives, candidates, and elected officials committed to reproductive health, rights and justice, and working to protect the safety, dignity and bodily autonomy of Minnesotans.

DFL CENTRAL COMMITTEE LETTER OF SUPPORT

Johanna shared her vision for Hopkins School District with local DFL leaders and received an official Letter of Support from the Democratic Party's Ad Hoc Committee for Senate Districts 43, 45, 46, and 49.

SCHOOL BOARD INTEGRITY PROJECT CANDIDATE PLEDGE SEAL

This seal recognizes candidates who commit to leading with integrity, respect, excellence, belonging, and truth at the center of their campaigns and future service. By earning this seal, Johanna has pledged to always put students first and to advocate for every child in our district.

While the Seal is not an endorsement, it signals to voters, community partners, and supporters that Johanna's campaign is grounded in honesty, accountability, and a steadfast commitment to championing all students.

2025 MOMS DEMAND ACTION GUN SENSE DISTINCTION CANDIDATE  

This distinction signals to Moms Demand Action supporters, volunteers and voters across the country that I am a candidate who advocates for gun violence prevention and will govern with gun safety in mind. Johanna will always advocate for common-sense gun safety and gun violence prevention.

OUTFRONT ACTION INCLUSIVE SCHOOLS LEADER PLEDGE

OutFront Minnesota Action is a volunteer led political action committee (PAC) working to elect candidates to advance LGBTQ+, economic, racial, and gender justice across the state. School boards are an important part of that landscape. Outfront offers a pledge for school board candidates who share those values. I am proud to say that I have signed the pledge and will work closely with Outfront in advancing LGBTQ+, economic, racial, and gender justice across the state of Minnesota.​
