Who is Johanna?
Golden Valley, MN • Attorney • Mom • School Board Candidate

Background & Local Roots
Johanna is a local attorney with local roots. Raised in Plymouth, MN, Johanna is a proud graduate of Armstrong High School. Although one of Armstrong's rivals, she grew up with a large group of friends that attended Hopkins schools and even went to Hopkins homecoming! After living in Chicago for 10 years, Johanna and her spouse returned to Minnesota and chose to plant roots in Golden Valley. The historical strength and beautiful diversity of Hopkins schools, the proximity to all that Minneapolis has to offer, and the warm community, made their decision easy!  Johanna has two children in the district, a rising third grader and a kindergartener, both enrolled at Meadowbrook Elementary. Johanna brings her rooted Twin Cities perspective to help guide a future-forward Hopkins.

Professional Experience
Johanna earned her B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin–Madison (2008) and completed her J.D. at Chicago‑Kent College of Law in 2012. After practicing law and living in Chicago, she moved back to Minnesota in 2019 and now calls Golden Valley her home. As an attorney, Johanna is a trusted advisor and counselor to many clients across various industries. She credits her success to her ability to listen carefully to problems, distill, analyze and assess complex information, and develop creative and customized solutions that address her clients' top concerns. Johanna has worked for some of the most prestigious law firms in the country. She is now a Senior Associate at a national law firm.  Johanna has been recognized numerous times among Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch and as a Minnesota Super Lawyers Rising Star, as recently as this year.
